Bio

Dr. Lauren Lewis is an Assistant Professor in the Community, Family, & Addiction Science program. She is a proud TTU alumni, where she graduated with a PhD in Addictive Disorders and Recovery Studies in 2024. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship with the Collaborative Hub for Emerging Adult Recovery Research (CHEARR) at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Dr. Lewis is also a Licensed Professional Counselor with a background in addiction counseling and a passion for community-driven research.

Research Interests

Research Interests: Dr. Lewis' research focuses on recovery from addiction with an interest in how individuals best thrive. Through community-based participatory research (CBPR) the aim of her research is to understand how emerging adults recover, the role of recovery capital, and how passion influences recovery outcomes. Additional interests include medications for substance use, long-term recovery, and recovery pathways.
