Researchers at Texas Tech University published the manuscript, "Relation between active mediation, exposure to Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, and US preschoolers' social and emotional development," in the Journal of Children and Media, relaying their findings to the notion that the children's show "Daniel's Tiger's Neighborhood" may aid children in their social and emotional development.

Human Development and Family Sciences

The mission of the Department of Human Development and Family Sciences (HDFS) is to promote the health and well-being of individuals, families and relationships across the life span through research, teaching, service and community outreach and engagement. HDFS offers a wide range of courses in the areas of early childhood, human development, interpersonal relations and family studies. Graduates of the department become qualified to pursue a variety of careers in education, human services, health care, advocacy and business, and/or pursue graduate studies.
