Dr. Divya Janardhan is Assistant Professor of Arts Administration, Management, and Advocacy and the Area Head of Arts Administration at the Talkington College of Visual and Performing Arts. As an interdisciplinary scholar, her research lies at the intersection of arts management, cultural policy, and the creative industries with topics spanning cultural policymaking and stakeholder interests, media-induced tourism, economic impact analysis, and organizational policy and performance research.

Dr. Janardhan teaches arts administration and cultural policy courses for the Fine Arts Doctoral Program and the MFA in Theatre Arts - Arts Administration Program, and an arts outreach service-learning tandem course for graduate and undergraduate levels. Her expertise includes curricular innovation and leadership in the case teaching method and field experience from strategic planning, marketing, and advertising.

Dr. Janardhan’s research accolades include those conferred by The International Association of Arts and Cultural Management (AIMAC); the Social Theory, Politics, and the Arts (STP&A) conference; and the Association for Cultural Economics International (ACEI). She has been an invited speaker on global platforms including the Lalit Kala Akademi – India's National Academy for the Visual Arts, an invited peer reviewer and discussant at international arts administration and cultural policy conferences, an invited reviewer for the Association of Arts Administration Educators’ (AAAE) cultural policy graduate curriculum standards, and part of the 2023 global inaugural cohort of AAAE’s prestigious NEA grant-funded Mentorship Program. Dr. Janardhan serves on the editorial boards of the American Journal of Arts Management and OIKOS/Cuadernos de Economía de la Cultura (Notebooks of Cultural Economy) - an international multidisciplinary journal out of the University of Seville, the STP&A Conference Board of Directors, and the Advisory Board of the Flatlands Dance Theatre in Lubbock, TX.

Dr. Janardhan is a trained classical performing arts vocalist in the Carnatic tradition and has acquired visual arts training under Balan Nambiar – one of India’s leading contemporary artists and research scholars. Dr. Janardhan was awarded a Ph.D. in Cultural Policy and Arts Management and a graduate minor in Public Policy and Management from the Ohio State University, besides additional qualifications in the domain areas of Arts Administration, Advertising and Marketing, and Media and Communications.
