Animation studies undergraduate certificate
As a cutting-edge field, animation studies unite practitioners and scholars in the history and theory of animation to explore animation's many applications in our digitized world. Its concentration on animation makes this field inherently interdisciplinary, as it highlights the effects and importance of new media in all areas of knowledge and cultural impact.
The Certificate in Animation Studies is an exciting opportunity for students to build a practical, interdisciplinary arts component into their academic program, ensuring that their time at Texas Tech translates into meaningful and significant preparation for the next stage in their careers and lives.
The certificate in animation studies is a rich interdisciplinary area to explore. It combines and applies skills (practice) and knowledge (research) from all three concentrations of the TCVPA (Art, Music, and Theater). The candidates who compete this certificate will have a solid base of principles of the history of animation and its positions in the arts. In practice, students will know how to apply different material-based techniques for production and the use of standard digital editing tools used in the industry.
