Animation Making Workshops
The Animation-Making Workshops (AMW) seek to establish the effectiveness of the animation-making process as a transformational agent in therapeutic, educational, and social contexts through data driven research by producing a method/program based on the inherent characteristics of animation theory and practice verified/tested in workshops conducted in partnership with scholars and practitioners specialized in the study and service of specific populations (target groups). Like many other artistic manifestations (visual arts, literature, music, cinema, and theater) professional therapist or researchers have explored the effect animation has on spectators and used their reports, reactions, or impressions to advance therapeutic treatments or for the study of human cognition. The AMW instead, takes advantage of research on the potential of creative practice as a transformational agent in therapeutic, educational, and social contexts.
