Steps for Applying to a Limited Submission Grant

Step 1

The PI who is interested in a potential grant that falls under the “External Grants Limited Submission” category must go online and research if the grant remains open.

The PI would research the status at two online links:

Step 2

If the grant is not on the list as open or closed, the PI needs to contact Karen Michael of ORDC, and CC Geneva Aragon-Allen, regarding their interest in a grant that may have the potential to be a limited submission.

Step 3

If the grant application remains open, the PI or PIs may submit a “Notice of Intent” to the Office of Research Development & Communications.

Step 4

Should multiple PIs submit a “Notice of Intent” and receive “approval” there will be an internal competition set up by ORDC.

Step 5

Process for multiple PIs interested in a limited submission grant:

“Notice of Intent” is to be submitted to ORDC before the deadline.

If multiple NOIs are approved, an opening of “internal competition” would be set up by ORDC.

A white paper would be submitted to the ORDC, by all PIs to be evaluated by a select committee of reviewers appointed by the ORDC.

The reviewers select a final candidate, and the limited submission is closed with that PI assigned to the program name.

Step 6

IF there is ONLY a single candidate, and the due date has passed, the limited submission is closed with that single PI who has been approved. The PI will be assigned to the program name, and there is no longer the opportunity for other PIs to submit a “Notice of Intent” as the “Limited Submission” is closed.
