Supplemental travel funding request for Significant Initiatives
Faculty may request supplemental travel funding towards airfare (main cabin) or ground transportation up to $1500 in support of significant initiatives. Examples of significant initiatives can be at the national or international level and include performances, presentations, lectures or exhibits that demonstrate impact on curriculum development, faculty research and creative activities, and/or engaged scholarship. Events can be discipline specific, collaborative, interdisciplinary, and/or something that fosters collaboration with national or international partners and institutions. While increased visibility of faculty research and creative activities can impact recruitment positively, this funding is not directly in support of recruitment activities.

Important Guidelines
For fullest consideration, faculty should submit completed applications at least 30 days ahead of domestic travel, and at least six weeks ahead of international travel. This timeframe will ensure that applications are reviewed at all levels and that staff can coordinate with the various offices to facilitate approved travel requests.
In all cases, faculty should first contact School Directors to request funding from the School or Department. Please indicate all expenses and all approved funding for the total trip on this application form.
Faculty are expected to list any contributions such as stipend, paid fee, or travel support provided by an external party.
If this funding is requested as an allocation from a faculty member's startup package, please indicate this on the form.
International Travel
All International Travel must be approved by the Office of International Affairs. Please submit an International Travel Application no less than 30 days ahead of planned departure date.
