About the Event

The TCVPA Annual Colloquium serves as an awards ceremony in which recipients of Research and Creative Activity Awards (RCAA) are announced. Recipients from past years provide presentations on their projects to share how the RCAA funding supports them. Recipients of Texas Tech faculty Awards external awards, and those who received promotion and tenure are also honored and celebrated.

RCAA red recipients 2023

The recipients of the RCAA Red shared their project outcomes through engaging poster presentations. These presentations sparked insightful conversations with guests and opened the door to exploring both existing and new possibilities in research.

Eric Allen, D.M.A.  – School of Music – Recording and CD/digital publication of the TTU Contemporary Music Ensemble

Ali Duffy, Ph.D. – School of Theatre & Dance – For participation in a three-seminar series at Queen’s University Belfast, Canterbury Christ Church University, and Texas Tech university to establish academic connections across disciplines on the subject of parenthood and dance.

Ghi Fremaux, M.F.A. – School of Art for an exhibition at Arts Fort Worth

Lisa Garner-Santa, D.M.A – School of Music – for her Partnership with the Burkhart Center to host an educational event that included the premiere of a commissioned work during Autism Awareness Month.

Aaron Hegert, M.F.A – School of Art – for the production of a large-scale exhibition at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art in January 2024

Kevin Wass, D.M.A. – School of Music – for a collaborative premiere of works for tuba by living female composers that also include multimedia components. 

 

RCAA black recipients 2022

The recipients of the RCAA Black shared their project outcomes through engaging video presentations. These presentations sparked insightful conversations with guests and opened the door to exploring both existing and new possibilities in research.

Professor Philippe Chao provides a presentation of "Music for Viola by Adolphus Hailstork” an underrepresented, prolific American composer. In this video he shares performances of pieces selected for a soon to be released recording.

 

 

Dr. Ali Duffy shares her significant contributions to dance education and research with her work on "International Network of Parents in Dance: A Global Seminar at Texas Tech University."
