Undergraduate Certificate/Minor in Arts Entrepreneurship
The Arts Entrepreneurship program at Texas Tech University is a 21-hour minor/certificate offered in conjunction with the Rawls School of Business and the TCVPA, making it easier than ever to understand the essentials to running a business in the Arts - a toolkit offering a Business Foundations for Arts Entrepreneurs.
You can choose between either the certificate or minor depending on your specific needs. If you are in an undergraduate program that requires a minor, then you would choose the minor component. If you are in a BFA or BM program but still want to complete the coursework for the entrepreneurship program, then the certificate would be ideal for you.
What Sets Us Apart
Our program combines business courses, arts courses, and the Innovation Hub’s Red Raider Startup or Hub Camp with an internship or capstone project, which empowers students to tailor the program to their strengths and interests.
One of the greatest assets to the students in the entrepreneurship program is the access to and individual attention from the faculty, guest speakers and the interdisciplinary student cohort. Additionally, the Arts Entrepreneurship program hosts internationally recognized guest speakers each year. Recent experts include Naomi Graebel, VP and CEO of Development at the Metropolitan Opera and Spring 2022 Nancy Umanoff, CEO at Mark Morris Dance Company.
Our previous students have created Arts Advocacy Community programs, A Sponsorship Finding Agency for Creative Artists, a new Summer Music Camp in Dallas, a new entirely Digital Music Publication Company, a Theatre Program for K-12 Schools, a Cowboy Hat store and a Cabaret Theatre Café was designed ready for implementation.
