Research Interests

My scholarship examines how sport leaders and organizations foster relationships, facilitate development, and strengthen communities. Drawing on sociocultural perspectives on leadership, sport, education, and human development, I study how leaders design structures and systems that expand access to resources and opportunities. My research spans youth, collegiate, and professional sport contexts, with a particular focus on how coaches and organizations cultivate social capital and foster inclusive development. My work includes qualitative and mixed-methods studies of coaching practices, athlete pipelines, sport participation trends, and the relationship between policy and practice. I aim to use these insights to inform sport education, policies, and programs that prepare leaders to positively shape their teams, institutions, and communities.
