Scholarships

An application to the Department of Kinesiology & Sport Management scholarships will automatically apply you to all scholarships that you qualify for. Some of the scholarships require additional information, so be sure to complete the entire application.

Important Application Information

• Incoming first-year students and transfer students apply at Apply Texas.
• Current students navigate to TTU Scholarships and click Current Student to apply.
• You must be a Kinesiology or Sport Management major to be eligible for departmental scholarships. You can verify your major on your unoffical transcript on Raiderlink.

Application Deadlines

• The application deadline for first-year students and transfer students is December 1.
• The application deadline for current students is February 1.

List of Scholarships

Zella Riegal Huffman Endowed Scholarship

• Female Kinesiology or Sport Management major
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in at least 30 semester credit hours at Texas Tech
• Must exhibit strong leadership potential, especially in professional and university organizations

Margaret E. Wilson Endowed Scholarship

• Incoming first-year Kinesiology or Sport Managment major
• Minimum SAT score of 1000 or ACT score of 20
• Financial need may be considered
• Renewable for the spring semester contingent on a minimum GPA of 3.0

Dorothy B. Hoyle Endowed Scholarship

• Sophomore Kinesiology or Sport Management major
• Preference given to Health or Public Health minors
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
• Documented financial need

Martin and Mavis McIntyre Endowed Scholarship

• Junior or senior Kinesiology or Sport Management major
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

Mike Bobo Scholarship Endowment in KSM

• Junior or senior Kinesiology or Sport Management major
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
• Financial need may be considered

George & Frieda Soutter Endowed Scholarship

• Junior or senior Kinesiology or Sport Management major
• Minimum of 60 semester credit hours at Texas Tech
• Current and continued enrollment in 16 semester credit hours
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
• Financial need and academic acheivements are the primary considerations
• May be renewed

Dr. Angela Lumpkin Scholarship Endowment in KSM

• Kinesiology or Sport Management major
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5
• Demonstrated leadership in at least one campus organization or activity
• Demonstrated service to the university/campus or community

• Kinesiology or Sport Management major

Dan K. Crawford Memorial Scholarship

• Kinesiology or Sport Management major

Audrey Janice (Ward) Lumpkin Memorial Scholarship

• Kinesiology or Sport Management major
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.8
• Demonstrated leadership in at least one campus organization or activity
• Demonstrated service to the university, department, or community
• Must live a values-based life characterized by integrity, as determined by the scholarship committee

Doris Horton Memorial Scholarship

• Senior Kinesiology or Sport Management major planning to enter the graduate program in Kinesiology & Sport Management at Texas Tech
• Or a graduate student in Kinesiology & Sport Management that is currently accepted and in good standing
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
• Financial need and research interests are considered

Harmon & Dot Scales Endowed Scholarship

• Kinesiology or Sport Management major or graduate student
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
• Demonstrated leadership qualities
• Financial need is considered
