The Giants are Back at the Museum of Texas Tech University

The giants of the Cretaceous world — Tyrannosaurus rex and Triceratops — are battling again at the Museum of Texas Tech University.

Hidden under a stylized Antarctic landscape for the past year, the dinosaurs are once again on display now that the Antarctic exhibition has been taken down.

Staff of the museum constructed the icy landscape as a backdrop to scenes of early Antarctic exploration including research by Texas Tech faculty members. Now the gallery is being returned to its former state — a battleground between two of the most fearsome creatures that have ever lived.

The two lived 65-68 million years ago. Now, like characters in the movie Ice Age, the dinosaurs are once again revealed from the 'melting' ice.

The giants of the Cretaceous world are located just inside the gallery area of the museum.
