JD/MPA Application Process

 

  1. TTU Graduate School Application Application Fee $75
  2. MPA Application Application Fee $25, (Coupon Code Available) 
     

Please contact pols.mpa.advising@ttu.edu for a Coupon Code to waive the $25 application fee for the MPA application.

 

The steps you need to take to complete the Graduate School application and MPA application are listed below:

  • Complete Graduate School application
  • Submit MPA Admission Inquiry Form (Submit the $25 Coupon Code here)
  • Submit final official transcripts to the Graduate School  (this will include the transcript indicating your earned bachelor's degree and also any transfer work you would like considered) – if you are a current TTU undergraduate student about to graduate you will have to request an official copy of your transcript once your degree has posted.  On your transcripts, your GPA will be evaluated.
  • Submit your 2 letters of recommendation – these requests are part of the application.  On the Graduate School application, you will provide the names and contact information of your letter writers and when you submit your application a request will be sent directly to them.
  • Submit your resume/CV
  • Submit your Statement of Purpose (the statement of purpose is a one-page letter) outlining the following:
    • stating why you're interested in the MPA Program
    • share any public service experience that you may have
    • why you feel that you are a good candidate for the MPA Program
  • Submit your GRE scores (LSAT, MCAT or GMAT scores will also be sufficient) These test scores are required.
    • GRE Range
      • Verbal – 145-155
      • Quantitative – 155-165
      • Writing 4.5 & 5.5

 

A few things to consider:

    • You MUST be accepted into Graduate School first and then the MPA Program before you can begin enrolling in courses at Texas Tech. 
    • The department does not control the admissions applicant portal so any issues will need to be reported to the graduate school: graduate.admissions@ttu.edu or 806-742-2787. Make sure to include all pertinent information: name, program and applicant ID.
