Master of Public Administration
The Master of Public Administration (MPA) Program is a two-year program that requires students to successfully complete a total of 36 hours of coursework while maintaining a 3.0 GPA. There are 7 required core courses that all students must complete and a 3-hour internship requirement. The remainder of students' credit comes from 12 hours of elective courses. Students have the option of choosing electives offered by the program that will help them tailor their coursework to meet their specific career goals. The program typically offers many courses in areas of public administration like public management, non-profit management, health care administration, and environmental policy and administration. With approval, students are permitted to take up to 6 hours of electives outside of the Arts and Sciences College. The MPA Program also offers a dual degree: the MPA/JD that can be completed in three years.
