What are you watching/streaming?
Right now I'm watching an HBO series called The Rehearsal. But really I'm just biding
my time until the annual rewatch of Twin Peaks: The Return.
What games are you playing?
I don't play video games but I do play real-life basketball, and as often as my aging
body will allow.
What are you listening to?
As trite as it may sound, I do listen to a variety of music, but my mainstay is always
and forever metal, usually so-called post-metal, drone metal, sludge, hardcore. Albums
by Sumac, Converge, Earth, Sunn0))), and Swans are perennial favorites.
What are you reading?
For day-to-day pleasure, I'm usually reading both comics and sci-fi novels. As for
the former, I'm currently reading three things: a collection of Mike Mignola's pulp
superhero comic Lobster Johnson; a volume of Takehiko Inoue's manga series Vagabond;
and Michael Deforge's Birds of Maine. As for sci-fi novels, I'm currently reading
Adrian Tchaikovsky's Children of Ruin, a doorstop of a novel. Whenever a break in
my research allows it, I usually like to read intellectual history.
What are you writing/thinking about?
I am currently writing, at a painfully slow pace, a book about New Hollywood cinema.
