Post-Doctoral Fellowship
The Humanities Center at Texas Tech University invites applications for its Post-Doctoral Fellowship in the Humanities, to be held over the 2025-2026 academic year, beginning on September 1, 2025.
Review of applications will begin immediately, with interviews planned for July 28-August 1, 2025.
This fellowship is open to all recent PhDs across humanities disciplines, but the Center will prioritize applicants whose work complements our recent scholarly emphases and research strengths. We are particularly interested in receiving applications from scholars whose work might contribute to ongoing research activity at Texas Tech, broadly defined.
This post-doctoral fellowship will target early career scholars who plan to pursue a tenure-track position after the term of the award, and who would benefit from dedicated research and writing time as well as professional development mentoring.
The Fellow will be provided with an office and computer at the Humanities Center and full library privileges, including access to special collections, online databases, and interlibrary loan services. Housing is not included, but the Humanities Center can assist with identifying housing resources if requested. The Center's visiting scholar will be paired with two faculty mentors at Texas Tech: one directly aligned with the Fellow's field of research study, and a second at-large mentor available for broad consultation about the academic profession. This fellowship is primarily intended to support new research in the humanities, and as such, the fellow will have no assigned teaching with this position.
