Co-Ed Cheer Tryouts
The Texas Tech Large Co-Ed Cheer Squad is comprised of talented male and female cheerleaders.
The Co-Ed Cheer Squad perform at all football games, women's home volleyball games, and men's and women's home basketball games. In addition, the Co-Ed Cheerleaders will the have opportunity to travel to post season football bowl games, Big 12 tournament basketball games, and NCAA/NIT basketball tournament games. The squad also represents Texas Tech at many university and community events throughout the year. Co-Ed Cheer Squad will also have the opportunity to represent Texas Tech at NCA College Nationals.

Preliminary Qualifying Videos Due: Friday, April 19 by 5:00 PM CST.
Finalists Posted and Invitations Sent: Friday, April 26, 2024.
Final In-Person Tryout Selections: May 10-12, 2024 (invitation only).

Female participants must choose which squad to tryout for: Co-Ed or All-Girl. Tryouts happen at the same time. At end of tryouts, Coach has the right to change and award position on opposite squad if needed and sees a better fit. During tryout selections, the Coaches may decide to combine squads and make a Small CoEd competition squad. Athletes may be asked to showcase skills at tryouts to assist with this decision.
What's the difference between squads? All-Girl are female cheerleaders stunting in all-female groups. Co-Ed consists of male and female cheerleaders with the males stunting with the female flyers.
Cheerleaders will NOT be able to participate in Fall Sorority or Fraternity Recruitment/Rush activities.

- First-Year & Transfer Students
Must be accepted to TTU for 2024-2025 academic year- Apply for Admissions Here
- Students may participate in Summer Gateway.
- Apply for admissions early. Must have file in processing before tryouts.

- Current TTU students:
- Enrolled full time (Undergraduate: 12 hours, Graduate: 9 hours)
- Cumulative & Current GPA of 2.0 or above
- TTU Health Sciences Center students are unable to participate. This applies to upper-level/graduate students only. Undergraduate health career students are under TTU and able to tryout & cheer.
- Current Health Insurance (a copy of insurance card must be presented at final tryouts)
- A detailed copy of program expectations will be provided via email and discussed with finalists.
- Tryout Application Fee ($45; link willl be emailed to address provided on application.)
- Submit Qualifying Skills Video by dealine (preliminary round)

- Deadline to submit: Friday, Apirl 19, 2024 by 5:00 PM CST.

- Receive invitation to attend live/in-person tryouts (semi-finals & finals)

- May 10-12, 2024
- Please note, the live/in-person tryout selections will occur same weekend at Texas Tech's commencement ceremonies. Therefore, we suggest getting hotel early and making adjustments if needed later.
- Communication will be via email that was provided on application. Please make sure you have access to and it is correct.
- Tryout selection process is closed to public.
- Head Coach has final selection in squad make and size.
Estimated up to 12-14 females, 16-20 males (includes options for Small-CoEd positions) - Score sheets will not be released. Selections are based on a combination of scoring/point system, skills assessmets, potential, character review, and purpose for being on our squad. Coaches have final say.
