CPR Certification Classes

Our American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED classes are an excellent opportunity for individuals or groups to gain life-saving skills and certifications. With an emphasis on hands-on learning, this courses gives you the skills to assist in an emergency, and help save a life. All course options align with OSHA's Best Practices for Workplace First Aid Training Programs. These classes are blended learning, meaning there will be approximately 3 hours of online coursework that must be completed prior to the start of class. After successful completion of the class, participants will receive an Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification, valid for 2 years. 

To earn a certification, participants must: 

• Attend the entire class session(s) 
• Complete all online coursework, prior to the start of class
• Engage in all skill sessions, activities, and scenarios 
• Demonstrate proficiency in all required skills and scenarios 

We offer two convenient options for earning your First Aid/CPR/AED certification:

Public Classes

• Open to anyone looking to gain life-saving skills.
• Cost: $75.00 per participant.
• Classes are offered in the sprinf fall semesters only.

Private Group Classes

• Ideal for groups, organizations, or companies.
• Prices vary based on class size.
• Class Size: Minimum of 4 participants, maximum of 20 participants.
• Private classes are available in the spring and fall semesters.

 

Make-Up / Refund Policy:

Make-ups are not offered if participant is not able to make the scheduled class or for inclement weather.  If inclement weather cancels a class, those affected will be contacted with more information.

Except as otherwise stated, refunds or credits will not be issued after payment has been made for an activity, class, or program.

Exceptions include:

• If the activity, class, or program is canceled by Texas Tech University - University Recreation
• If a participant is injured or unable to participate due to a documented medical reason.

Any refund request outside the stated exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Refunds are made at the discretion of the Assistant Director of Aquatics and are not guaranteed.
