Position Description
Texas Tech University Student Counseling Center invites applications for a full-time
Staff Psychologist/Counselor position (TTU job title: Counseling Psychologist). The
successful candidate will join a cohesive team of dedicated professionals committed
to fostering a multiculturally supportive environment. Responsibilities include providing
culturally sensitive counseling and psychological services to students; supervision
of graduate student trainees (doctoral psychology interns and/or graduate practicum
students); outreach programming to campus community.
The Student Counseling Center employs 16 senior staff members from various mental health disciplines, 4 full-time doctoral psychology interns within an APA-accredited internship program, several full-time and part-time masters and doctoral level practicum students, 1 case manager, and 3 support staff positions.

Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree (e.g., Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, Social Work). Eligible
for licensure in Texas commensurate with most advanced degree; licensure required
within two years of date of hire.
Desired Qualifications
Doctorate degree (Clinical or Counseling Psychology). Experience with university
populations, including clinical and programming experience with diverse students.
Experience with clinical supervision of mental health trainees.
Compensation
The Student Counseling Center offers competitive salaries commensurate with educational
background and experience. Positions include full Texas State Employee benefits,
including health care coverage, paid vacation and sick leave, and enrollment in the
Teachers Retirement System of Texas pension plan.

educational, or other counseling or training at the individual or group level. May
assist in the coordination and management of the program. Work is performed under
general supervision with performance based on individual counseling effectiveness
and overall program results obtained.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and one year experience in related area. Additional education in
a related area may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
Desired Qualifications
Master's Degree and either Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate or Licenses Marriage
and Family Counselor-Associate license.
