Tutor Training
The TECHniques Center is certified with the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). Through required training hours each semester, out tutors have the opportunity to become a CRLA certified tutor. Certification provides recognition and positive reinforcement for tutors' successful work, sets professional standards of skill and training for tutors, and augments program credibility for administrators and institutions. One has the potential of becoming up to a Level III certified tutor, depending on the hours of training and number of semesters worked at the TECHniques Center. Each level requires a set number of hours and specific training topics based on the latest research and best practice tutoring strategies.
The TECHniques Center requires a 2-day training for all tutors at the beginning of each semester.
