Giving to the TECHniques Center
The impact the TECHniques Center has on students and tutors would not be possible without your generous support through donations. People can give to the TECHniques Center in a variety of ways:
TECHniques Center Fund for Excellence
The TECHniques Center Fund for Excellence was established in 2009 to help ensure the TECHniques Center's long-term viability.
Proceeds from the TECHniques Center Fund for Excellence facilitate student success in many ways, including:
- Purchasing new and updated technology and software programs that support student learning.
- Purchasing tutoring materials and supplies for tutoring sessions.
- Purchasing resources to support the valuable training that tutors receive each semester.
- Providing scholarship assistance to students who need the services of the TECHniques Center, but may not be able to afford the fee.
The ultimate goal of the TECHniques Center Fund for Excellence is to move the TECHniques Center towards financial independence by allowing the Center to become fully self-supported. A self-supported TECHniques Center would ensure services for students with learning disabilities, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and Autism Spectrum Disorders for many years to come.
TECHniques Center Endowment Scholarship Fund
The TECHniques Center Endowment Scholarship Fund was established in 2014 by the Leinen Family. This fund provides annual scholarships to students who are currently enrolled in the TECHniques Center and aims to allow access to students who could not otherwise afford our fees.
Because of the charitable gifts and donations we have received, the TECHniques Center has been able to provide food and drinks to hungry students, improve outdated work spaces, update technology and software, develop advanced tutor training experiences for our tutors so that we can provide the best service possible, and celebrate student successes, among many other things.
If you are interested in making a tax-deductible donation to the TECHniques Center and be a part of these experiences, you can donate directly to the fund of your choice online.
The Student Disability Services Fund for Excellence
The Student Disability Services Fund for Excellence was established in 2015 with gifts from the SDS staff and former students. This fund is used to support the daily operations and services of Student Disability Services. These needs include but are not limited to: assistive technology development, student instructional materials, supplemental tutoring, equipment and office supplies, and student scholarships.
Proceeds from the Student Disability Services Fund for Excellence facilitate student success in many ways, including:
- Purchasing new and updated technology and software programs that assist with learning disabilities, as well as informational management to support student learning.
- Purchasing materials and supplies
- Providing scholarship assistance to students with a disability
The goal of the Student Disability Services Fund for Excellence is to support students as best as possible and provide exceptional service. If you, or someone you know, are interested in donating, gifts can be made online directly to the Student Disability Services Fund for Excellence.
The Guy & Elwanda Phillippe Endowed Scholarship
The Guy & Elwanda Phillippe Endowed Scholarship was established by Dr. Larry Phillippe in 2014 in honor of his parents for their many years of supporting Texas Tech University. The Phillippe Scholarship provides yearly scholarships to students in any major and currently enrolled in the TECHniques Center of Student Disability Services.
Jeanne Rau Cumbie Scholarship Endowment
The Jeanne Rau Cumbie Scholarship is awarded annually to a TECHniques Center student(s) who is currently enrolled and in good standing with the TECHniques Center program at the time of application for this scholarship.
Jack T. Grant Memorial Scholarship Endowment
The Jack T. Grant Memorial Scholarship Endowment was established in 2017 by Todd and Kimberly Grant in honor of their beloved son, Jack Grant, who was a student in the TECHniques Center at the time of his unexpected passing in 2017. The Grant family established this scholarship fund so that they and others “could contribute to the success of future students” in the TECHniques Center. This scholarship is awarded to a currently enrolled student in the TECHniques Center who demonstrates financial need.
