About Us

Top Tier Catering got its start as University Catering more than 25 years ago. Originally part of the Raider Rock Grill in the Student Union Building, University Catering had no set menu and was mainly used to make cookies.

Today, Top Tier is a full-service catering operation that caters more than 3500 events each year, from coffee for four to full plated dinners for 1500.

In 2001, University Catering outgrew its surroundings and moved into the Wiggins Complex and a kitchen about five times larger than the previous kitchen in the SUB. At first, the extra room in the kitchen was mainly used for storage, but now, Top Tier uses every inch of space.

The kitchens were recently updated to use a state-of-the-art combi oven system. Now, chefs can prepare meals faster with less waste in a safer environment. Top Tier also has the ability to blast-chill any leftover food, making it safer to store.

In 2010, University Catering changed its name to Top Tier Catering as a sign of the growth of off-campus events. Top Tier is still the exclusive caterer of the McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center, Frazier Alumni Pavilion and Student Union Building, as well as the preferred caterer of all on-campus venues.

Since the McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center first opened in 1995, Top Tier Catering has been catering all weddings that take place in this spectacular venue. Additionally, Top Tier can help brides plan their perfect day in the McKenzie-Merket or the Frazier Alumni Pavilion.

Top Tier Catering is certified by the American Culinary Association to be a training kitchen, making it possible to train and certify chefs. Today, Top Tier has 2 Certified Executive Chefs and 2 Certified Sous Chefs. Top Tier is also working with cooks across many TTU Departments and chefs from across 4 states to offer training and certification.

Top Tier Catering
