Scholarships in Engineering Technology

1. The Fred Wagner Scholarship. This scholarship is open to any option in the Engineering Technology Department and carries a $600 per year award and is paid $300 per semester. It requires an overall 3.0 GPA to continue payment. The scholarship will be renewed for a second year with continued high scholastic performance. Preference will be made to entering freshmen or students transferring from a community college.

 

2. The Johnson Controls-Pigott Scholarship. This scholarship is for a Engineering Technology majoring the Mechanical Option entering their sophomore year with an overall GPA of 2.7 or better. Once awarded, the student can retain the scholarship for a maximum of 4 years provided that the student remains a full-time student and maintains the minimum 2.7 GPA at the end of each spring semester. The student should be a US citizen who is not on leave or does not have any alliance or commitment to a competing company. Selection will be based upon a perceived “winner” with character, commitment and the required minimum GPA. Race, religion, sex, handicaps, or national origin will not be considered in selection of recipients. The scholarship will be for $1,000 per year and paid $500 per semester

 

3. The Alumni Scholarship. This scholarship is open to any Engineering Technology major who is a sophomore or higher and requires an overall GPA of 3.0 or better. The scholarship is currently in the amount of $600 per year and paid $300 per semester. The amount of and/or number of the Alumni Scholarship(s) varies with the availability of funds. The scholarship is renewable.

 

4. The Al Sanger Scholarship. This scholarship is for full time junior and senior Construction Engineering Technology majors. Award is based on financial need and a commitment to the Construction Engineering Technology Program. Preference will be given to students who are working part time. Scholarship is renewable. Minimum amount is $500 per year paid one-half per semester.

 

5. The Robert Patillo. This scholarship is for full time junior and senior Engineering Technology majors and requires as 3.0 GPA or better. Minimum scholarship amount is $500 per year paid one-half per semester. Scholarship is renewable.

The College of Engineering Dean's office offers a number of externally funded scholarships.
