Launch Your Future in Engineering (LYFE), hosted in August at the Allen Theater in the Student Union Building, is an event to welcome incoming freshman and transfer students to the Whitacre College of Engineering.
Hosted each year in early September on the Engineering Key, this event showcases the exciting world of engineering and brings students, faculty, staff, and industry partners together for fun.
This event, conducted in Spanish, is hosted every August on each fall's move-in day and provides a forum for Spanish speaking students and their families to get to know the Whitacre College of Engineering and ask questions. Sponsored by CPCEED and ConocoPhillips.
In February and September each year, the college hosts the Texas Tech Engineering Job Fair, the university's largest job fair, welcoming hundreds of recruiters from public and private industries. The next Engineering Job Fair is September 19, 2018, at the Lubbock Civic Center.
Engineers Week is a time to celebrate engineering. As a part of National Engineers Week, Whitacre College of Engineering faculty, staff, and students participate in events that highlight the fun and diversity in engineering.
Order of the Engineer Ceremony
The Order of the Engineer is an association for graduate and professional engineers in the United States that emphasizes pride and responsibility in the engineering profession. Texas Tech students join the order by taking an oath to abide by a code of ethics called 'The Obligation of an Engineer.'
Hosted on the day before the undergraduate commencement exercises in the spring and fall semesters, the Whitacre College of Engineering's Honors Convocation recognizes students who have been academically successful in their time at Texas Tech.
Following the university's commencement exercises at the United Spirit Arena, engineering graduates, families, and friends gather to celebrate the accomplishments of our students with a Graduation Reception.

ASME Junkyard Wars
American Society of Mechanical Engineers - Texas Tech Chapter is hosting its annual Junkyard Wars event on Saturday, September 15, 2018, and Sunday, September 16, 2018, at the Reese Technology Center. Teams of Texas Tech students will team up to create a device our of junkyard scraps and compete against each other in various challenges.
