Texas Tech University 2010 Back to School Fiesta July 31st
The Back to School Fiesta University is an annual fall event open to the Lubbock community and surrounding communities’ students and their families. During the three hour event students will receivefree school supplies, college going resources, free food, and entertainment. As many as 3,000 Lubbock area participants are expected at this year’s fiesta, created to introduce children and their families to the educational and professional opportunities offered by higher education and a degree earned through Texas Tech. The event features a college and community fair, free health screenings, college preparation workshops, parent workshops, campus tours and more.
Activities include:
• Parent workshops (Spanish and English)
• K-5th Grade College Motivational Workshops
• 6-9th Grade College Preparation Workshops
• 10-12th Grade GO Center Stations
• Hands On Academic Activities
• Community and College Information Fair
• Free Food and Entertainment
