Native American Summer Bridge Institute (NASBI)
- The Native American Summer Bridge Institute (NASBI) is for Native American high school students entering their junior year of high school.
- The 2012 program will be held at the Texas Tech University campus in Lubbock, Texas on June 18-22, 2012.
The Texas Tech University Cross-Cultural Academic Advancement Center (CCAAC) is currently recruiting Native American students from Texas and the southwest to participate in its summer 2012 program. Our program is designed for those students entering their junior year of high school in the fall of 2012. The Institute seeks to prepare students for their junior year in high school and college entrance requirements. Students will then return to Texas Tech during summer 2013 to enhance their knowledge and skills in a college preparation program.
NASBI is primarily intended to introduce Native American students to academic and social settings of a university so that they will aspire and plan to attend college after high school graduation.
There is no fee to attend NASBI; housing and meals are provided to all accepted participants. Travel arrangements may also be provided by the CCAAC. Students who request assistance with their travel expenses need to contact the CCAAC to apply for a travel scholarship.
