Joshua Cruz is a graduate of Arizona State University, serving as a qualitative methodologist at Texas Tech's College of Education. His academic interests include innovations in qualitative research, theory (especially critical and post-structural), college student transitions, and writing studies. By happenstance, he has also fallen into research in STEM education, especially related to integrating the arts and humanities into engineering curricula. Some of his personal interests also intersect with his research interests, including capoeira, circus arts, and various disciplines of movement. He also has hobbies that he does not research, as researching them would kill their allure, such as cooking, guitar, and Disney (especially singing Disney show tunes loudly in the car and shower). In his spare time, he also enjoys travelling, taking in the flora, fauna, and food of various locales.
