My name is Darcy Hassler. As a high school student in Stephenville, my participation and responsibilities in student government and other extracurricular activities reinforced my interest in pursuing a career in mass communications. I am now a junior advertising major. This is my first year on Dean’s Student Council. I am also a member of Phi Delta Alpha, Gamma Beta Phi, Golden Key International Honour Society and Sigma Alpha Lambda. These organizations, along with my coursework, have reinforced my interest in a career related to mass communications. I enjoy both the creativity and the research associated with my field of study. I am especially interested in the relationship between the law and issues related to the media.

I am confident that I will be prepared to enter the workforce with my degree in advertising when I graduate in May 2012. I am looking forward to the remainder of my coursework and my involvement in student organizations and activities as I work toward this goal.
