Master of Science in Biotechnology or
Ph.D. Biomedical Sciences / MBA
In partnership with the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center Graduate School of Biomedical Science, you can pursue either an M.S. in Biotechnology and an MBA, or a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences and an MBA. Both programs provide comprehensive training in business concepts, scientific discovery and technology.
Specifically, the Ph.D./MBA program is for those seeking a rewarding career in academic medicine as a physician scientist. This path will prepare you to become a medical practitioner and faculty member at a university medical center where you will teach medical and graduate students, and, as a scientist, be involved in biomedical research.
program format
Rawls College will accept 12 credit hours from the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences as electives in the MBA program. Likewise, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences will accept 12 credit hours from the MBA program as electives for the M.S. in Biotechnology or Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences. You will work with advisors from both colleges to ensure all graduation requirements are met for each program.
admissions
Applicants will need to apply to the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and Rawls College, separately. Both schools must issue an acceptance for the student to enroll in the dual degree program.
