About Custodial Services

Custodial Services cleans classrooms, offices, common areas, and restrooms daily for more than 75 auxiliary and education & general-use buildings on and off campus. We clean approximately 5 million square feet of space. At Texas Tech Custodial Services, we focus on health first, then appearance.

Operations Division Services custodial staff members clean buildings and disinfect restrooms to create and maintain a safe environment for Texas Tech students, faculty, and staff. Operations custodial staff sanitize 785 campus restrooms & locker rooms daily with a high-end disinfectant and fill soap dispensers every evening to promote healthy hand-washing habits. Custodial members are also highly trained to follow proper cleaning procedures to ensure the health of our campus buildings.

Our Custodial Services staff are experienced and dedicated to the students, faculty, and staff of Texas Tech. Our staff is trained in (OS1), a cleaning system designed not only for the health of our campus buildings but for going beyond safety compliance and using ergonomic tools designed for our employees' health and safety. 

Using the (OS1) Team Cleaning approach, Custodial Services assigns each custodian a specialty. Our custodial specialists include the Restroom Specialist, Light Duty Specialist, Vacuum Specialist, and Utility Specialist. This approach to cleaning allows each custodian to work as a team in a safer, cleaner, simpler way to maintain campus facilities.
