FACILITIES INVENTORY
(FI)

The Facilities Inventory team provides real-time facilities information in a variety of formats
to promote information exchange regarding facilities composition and utilization,
ensure beneficial stewardship of facilities, and enhance decision making.
The FI team maintains the official space inventory (TechSID) and submits the information
annually to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

MATADOR INFORMATION PORTAL
(MIP) 

Matador Information Portal (MIP) is a Geographic Information System that was
developed to provide a graphical campus information portal for Texas Tech University
using the latest online mapping technologies and services.

INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO USE MIP

Please visit the Matador Information Portal (MIP), select your building, then click floorplans,
then select your floor number from the drop down menu and finally click the PDF map link.
A floorplan for that floor will be downloaded as a PDF for your use.

 

MIP FEEDBACK REQUEST

If information on MIP is no longer accurate, please submit the information in the
Facilities Feedback box located on the floor plan view in the left column.

MAPPING

A component of the Facilities Inventory for the university are the floor plans
of each building owned, leased, and used by Texas Tech University.
Mapping manages the acquisition, updates, and maintenance of these floor plans.

Mapping is responsible for the following:

  • Buildings Addresses
  • Assigning Room Numbers
  • Emergency Action Plans (EAP) 
  • Producing and Maintaining As-Built Drawings of all TTU Buildings
  • As-Built Drawings for the Satellite Campuses (updated bi-annually)
  • GPS Mapping for Satellite Campuses (updated bi-annually)

(SUA)

Space Use Analysis (SUA) is a survey based approach to gaining knowledge about how space is used on campus.
This type of data collection and collaboration across TTU allows the Facility Information Team to capture and track
space changes from participants who are most familiar with the space. If you believe your space or a space in which you

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: "Where I can find my building's floorplan to make a map for visitors to our office?"

A: Please visit the Matador Information Portal (MIP), select your building, then click floorplans, then select your floor number from the drop down menu and finally click the PDF map link. A floorplan for that floor will be downloaded as a PDF for your use.

 

Q: "How can you measure distances using MIP?"

A: Bring up the campus map, if it is not showing click on "Campus Map" from the top menu bar. Once the campus map is showing, from the top menu bar click on the box "Measure (Length)." Next click on the starting point of the area to be measured then drag the mouse to the end point and double click. This will bring up a pop-up bubble showing the distance.

 

Q: "How can we find the square footage in MIP?"

A: Go to the MIP webpage then select the building you are wanting to see. Once you click on the building a column on the left will appear. Click on "Floor Plans" then click on the room you are wanting to see. Once the room is highlighted the left column will show you the details of the room with square footage, Space Use Code, etc.
