In Praise of Graduate Students

Our graduate students represent the heart and soul of our program. They teach, direct, innovate, publish, attend conferences and festivals, all the while serving as excellent mentors to our undergraduate population. They also advise us how best to address issues in education that keep us contemporary, meaning, of course, that we must establish communication based on trust and mutual respect.

Healing & Recovery at THE EDGE

Sean Allen Jones (BFA, 1998; MA, 2022) is a well-loved personality in the Texas Tech University (TTU) School of Theatre & Dance alumni community and a founding member of THE EDGE: A COMPANY OF FINE ARTISTS, one of Lubbock’s newest and most exciting non-profit theatres. Among the Lubbock addiction recovery community – which is much larger than you might expect – he has also developed a reputation as a generous and giving person who is incredibly open about his own journey.

Alumni Spotlight: Jaston Williams

Jaston Williams (Speech Major, 70’-73') is no stranger to Lubbock, Texas. He spent his childhood summer afternoons playing on his grandparents’ West Texas lawn just minutes away from the Texas Tech campus. The third generation Red Raider explored everything the campus had to offer during his early years, but it was a high school summer camp that introduced him to the theatre department.
