The School of Theatre & Dance is excited to present DanceTech, March 5-7, in the intimate The CH Foundation The Legacy of Christine DeVitt Black Box Theatre, our first time performing in this new space. This year, the intimate space of the Black Box allows our audiences to focus in on the choreography itself.
University theatres have the responsibility and the privilege to celebrate new voices. If we remain married only to old favorites, the theatre/dance world would stagnate and the next generation of artists may be left undiscovered.
In anticipation for the opening, we decided to take a look behind the scenes with second year MFA Design student Taylor Alfred and her work as the lighting designer for "Hay Fever."
These days you can find MFA Design student Kelly Murphey spending eleven-hour days painting the set of "Hay Fever." However, he likes to stay busy with projects ranging from lighting and set to sound design.
