Kylie Harlan, M.S, is a lecturer in agricultural communications at Texas Tech University.

Ms. Harlan joined the faculty in 2023. She received her B.S. and M.S. in Agricultural Communications, both from Texas Tech University. As an undergraduate, Ms. Harlan participated in the Government and Public Service Internship Program, where she represented Davis College in Washington, D.C. Additionally, she worked for the Texas Peanut Producers Board in a marketing and communications role. As a graduate student, she worked as a research assistant on a USDA Higher Education Challenge Grant, while also being a teaching assistant for various agricultural communications courses. Her thesis research explored student perceptions of using interactive virtual tours of agricultural and food science facilities in an agricultural education setting.

Currently, she teaches ACOM 2300 Professional Development in Agricultural Communications, and ACOM 2302 Scientific Communications in Agriculture and Natural Resources. Ms. Harlan's teaching philosophy centers around empowering students to be critical thinkers and problem solvers, which are skills that will serve them well into their careers. She aims to create course content that is applicable in and outside of the classroom.

Ms. Harlan is originally from Bells, Texas. When she is not on campus, you can often find her and her dog, Finn, taking a lot of walks and playing a lot of fetch.
