• Download the template and open it in the desktop version of Microsoft Word. Word for the web does not support templates.
• Word will open a new, untitled document based on the template.
• Save the new document as a .docx before you start writing. This leaves the original template unchanged.
• Check your formatting against the current Graduate School Formatting Guidelines as you work, since requirements may change.
