STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS

The use of academic space falls under the direction of Operations Space Resource & Management (SRM); this includes all university owned schedulable space. Reservation requests must be made to SRM, except for those buildings noted below, and are granted based on availability and the priorities of the desired space. The following areas are not under the direction of SRM and should be contacted directly for reservation information: Student Union, Law School, Recreation Center, West Hall, the Library, Museum, National Ranching Heritage Center, Dairy Barn, International Cultural Center, United Spirit Arena, Wiggins Complex, Student Enrichment Center, residence halls, and other auxiliary or administrative buildings. Reservations must be made through appropriate offices for the use of rooms in buildings controlled by the university.

CAMPUS CARRY ACT

The Campus Carry Act (Texas Government Code 51.976) and Texas Tech University Operating Policy 10.22 establishes exclusionary zones where individuals are prohibited from carrying concealed handguns at locations where minors are present as part of a program or in a location where alcohol is being served. FORMS AND FAQ

To reserve academic spaces Student Organizations must have fulfilled both the Registration and Risk Management requirements for the current academic year. Only current student organization leaders listed in TechConnect can request academic rooms on behalf of their student organization.

Department events should be requested using the Academic Events form. Law school events should be requested using one of the law school event request forms.
