Justin Houser , Ph.D. Lead Academic Advisor - Academic Affairs

Dr. Justin Houser is the Lead Academic Advisor for the General Studies Program where he has worked since 2021. In his role, he works with students under the Arts & Sciences Multidisciplinary Studies major and Pre-Law designation. Dr. Houser won both the Arts & Sciences Excellence in Academic Advising and the President’s Excellence in Academic Advising Award in 2023.

Away from his advising work, Dr. Houser is an active experimental musician and composer whose works have been performed across the country. His studies focus on electroacoustic music with focuses on motion tracking interfaces, machine learning systems, and free-form improvisation systems. He also serves as the director for the Longitudes Experimental Music Series through CO-OPt Research + Projects, a local gallery space.
