Earl Camp Award
The Earl Camp Award is the most prestigious honor bestowed upon graduating seniors by the faculty and staff of Biological Sciences at TTU. The award is named in honor of the late Earl Camp, former professor and chairman of Biology, who endowed the award. The award carries a monetary prize and the amount varies from year to year.
Awardees are biological science majors who typically have cumulative GPAs of 3.7, or above. They have also participated in undergraduate biological research and have presented or published this research, or are preparing to do so.
Nominations are made in one of three ways: (1) a letter of recommendation from a biology faculty member, (2) a letter of recommendation from a research mentor, or (3) self-nomination by the student. Nomination materials are due no later than March 1st (for seniors graduating this coming May, August, or December). The nomination materials must include a letter of recommendation written by a biology faculty member or research mentor (up to three letters may be submitted), evidence of presentation/publication if applicable, and a resume.
Nomination materials should be submitted via email to biology.advising@ttu.edu.
