OVERVIEW
The Biological Sciences Department offers various online opportunities for undergraduate students. From Principles of Ecology to Microbiomes to Medical Entomology, we deliver a range of biology courses online to allow for schedule flexibility.
We currently offer an approved 100% online a Biology minor. Unfortunetly, we do not offer a 100% online B.S. in Biology degree option. However, a hybrid (face-to-face/online) B.S. in Biology degree is offered at the TTU main campus in Lubbock and at the TTU Waco extension site. In addition, we are working on developing various online undergraduate Biology certificates.
COURSES
We offer online Biology courses in a variety of formats. However, most TTU Biology online courses are delivered as asynchronous courses to allow for maximum schedule flexibility. Associated labs are also available online and may include simulated labs, at-home hands-on activties, at-home outdoor activities, and/or activities using online resources.
We offer non-major Biology courses online to meet core science requirements that support online degrees from other departments and colleges: Ecology and Environmental Problems (BIOL 1305), Biology of Plants (BIOL 1401), Biology of Animals (BIOL 1402), Anatomy I and II (ZOOL 2402 and 2403). From Principles of Ecology to Microbiomes to Medical Entomology, we deliver a range of upper division biology, microbiology, and zoology electives online.

DEGREE COMPLETION
Are you currently a TTU student needing to move to an online degree program? Have you moved away from TTU main campus? Just need a few more courses to finish your Biology degree online? Depending on your remaining requirements, online courses may allow you to complete your degree from where you are located.
Talk with your Biology advisor to ensure degree completion is possible.
CERTIFICATES
Currently, a certificate in Vector-Borne Diseases has been approved for hybrid delivery for main campus. However, we are working to develop online courses to allow the certificate to be available 100% online soon. Other certifcates are also in development.
If you have any additional questions, please contact the Associate Chair for Online Programming, Stephanie Lockwood.
