About this certificate program
The cybersecurity core certificate consists of 6 modules and includes CompTIA certifications. The only prerequisites are to have a laptop, a general acquaintance with computing, and intermediate-level English. Previous programming experience is helpful but not necessary.

When you earn a certificate, you also receive 4 CEUs.
The certificate program trains you to a high standard of technical proficiency in both certifications and power skills. You will begin on the ground floor, and the modules will build upon one another.

Professor Patrick J. Slattery
Professor Slattery is a global technology, performance, risk, and crisis management advisor. He helps build resilience by boosting cybersecurity and performance, and he has taught at universities in New York City and at Texas Tech in Costa Rica.
He earned his most recent qualifications from the University of Oxford's Business School and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Professor Karl Bandilla
Karl Bandilla is an environmental engineer who researches the management of groundwater resources. He holds a Ph.D. in environmental engineering from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo. He has conducted research at SUNY, the United States Environmental Protection Agency, and Princeton University.
Bandilla's specialty is flow and transport in groundwater. He currently teaches at Texas Tech University-Costa Rica and conducts research related to groundwater resources in Costa Rica.
