Devender Banda, PhD, BCBA-D.
Position: Principal Investigator
Experience: Dr. Banda has more than 20 years of experience working with individuals with developmental
disabilities and their families. He has worked in school settings and has also provided
behavioral consultation services in educational and home settings.
Position at TTU: Dr. Banda is a professor of special education and teaches courses in applied behavior
analysis and special education. He is the Verified Course Sequence (VCS) Coordinator
for the TTU ABA program.

Stacy Carter, PhD, BCBA-D, NCSP, LSSP
Position: Co-Principal Investigator
Experience: Dr. Carter has more than 20 years of experience working with individuals with developmental
disabilities and their families. He has worked in developmental disabilities centers
and with community supported living agencies in several different states.
Position at TTU: Dr. Carter is a professor of special education and teaches courses in applied behavior
analysis and special education.

Nora Griffin-Shirley, PhD, COMS
Position: Co-Principal Investigator
Experience: Dr. Griffin-Shirley has provided services to persons with IDD as an orientation and
mobility specialist for individuals who have a visual impairment. Additionally, she
was the guardian of an adult with IDD for many years until his death.
Position at TTU: Dr. Griffin-Shirley is the TTU's Director of the Virginia Murray Sowell Center for
Research and Education in Sensory Impairments, the Coordinator of Orientation and
Mobility Program and the TTU's Graduate School Certificate in Sensory Impairments
and Autism.

C. L. Wayne Moore, Ph.D.
Position: Project Manager
Experience: Dr. Moore has several years of leadership experience both in university and corporate
settings. One of his university roles included serving as an Associate Dean/Associate
Director with University of Nebraska Extension. In one of his corporate roles, he
served as Vice President and Director of Internal Communications with American State
Bank, now Prosperity Bank. His Ph.D. in consumer economics is from Texas Tech University,
where he also did 39 credit hours in a marriage and family therapy doctoral program.
His master's is in clinical psychology.
A certified Blanchard SLII leadership trainer, Dr. Moore has trained over 140 leaders in this servant leadership model. His background includes serving as a co-therapist for an at-risk youth group and a teen sexual perpetrator group and facilitating a high-school drop-out prevention program. He has also facilitated a bi-polar adult group while serving as a therapist at Dauphin County Counseling Center in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Moore has taught courses, including consumer behavior, financial planning, and human resource management, at a few universities. He has also led teams toward successful completion of a variety of projects. These include creation of a blueprint for a corporate building's remodeling process, building an effective internal communications department, and leading a planning committee in creating a successful university extension program awareness and research conference.

Rosita Moore, Ph.D.
Position: Lead Account Processor
Experience: Dr. Moore has several years of experience as an editor of doctoral dissertations,
grant proposals, and journal articles. She is a former high school English teacher,
academic advisor, and has worked in various office management positions.
Position at TTU: Dr. Moore is the Lead Account Processor for Project TEDD. She has been an adjunct
instructor in the College of Human Sciences at Texas Tech and an advisor for the special
education certification program in the College of Education.

Ethan Patterson
Position: Graduate Research Assistant
Experience: Mr. Patterson recently graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Texas
Tech University. While an undergraduate, he assisted with research in the Cognition
Lab, investigating reading acquisition skills in Early Childhood. Mr. Patterson has
experience working for the Local Mental Health Authority in outpatient services as
well as crisis intervention in rural communities.
Position at TTU: Mr. Patterson is the Graduate Research Assistant for Project TEDD. He is currently
pursuing a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in the College of
Education at Texas Tech.
