Dr. Devender Banda, Ph.D.

Position: Principal Investigator
Experience: Dr. Banda has more than 20 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. He has worked in school settings and has also provided behavioral consultation services in educational and home settings.
Position at TTU: Dr. Banda is a professor of special education and teaches courses in applied behavior analysis and special education. He is the Verified Course Sequence (VCS) Coordinator for the TTU ABA program.

Stacy Carter, PhD, BCBA-D, NCSP, LSSP

Dr. Stacy Carter, Ph.D.

Position: Co-Principal Investigator
Experience: Dr. Carter has more than 20 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. He has worked in developmental disabilities centers and with community supported living agencies in several different states.
Position at TTU: Dr. Carter is a professor of special education and teaches courses in applied behavior analysis and special education.

Nora Griffin-Shirley, PhD, COMS

Dr. Nora Griffin-Shirley, Ph.D.

Position: Co-Principal Investigator
Experience: Dr. Griffin-Shirley has provided services to persons with IDD as an orientation and mobility specialist for individuals who have a visual impairment. Additionally, she was the guardian of an adult with IDD for many years until his death.
Position at TTU: Dr. Griffin-Shirley is the TTU's Director of the Virginia Murray Sowell Center for Research and Education in Sensory Impairments, the Coordinator of Orientation and Mobility Program and the TTU's Graduate School Certificate in Sensory Impairments and Autism.

C. L. Wayne Moore, Ph.D.

C. L. Wayne Moore, Ph.D.

Position: Project Manager
Experience: Dr. Moore has several years of leadership experience both in university and corporate settings. A certified Ken Blanchard SLII leadership trainer, he has trained over 140 leaders in this servant leadership model. He has also served as a therapist and as a high school dropout prevention counselor.
His background includes a master's in clinical psychology and 39 credit hours in a marriage and family therapy doctoral program. Dr. Moore has served as a co-therapist for an at-risk youth group, a teen sexual perpetrator group, and has facilitated a bi-polar adult group.
Position at TTU: Dr. Moore is the Project Manager for Project TEDD. He has taught various courses at a number of universities and led teams toward successful completion of a variety of projects. These include creation of a blueprint for a corporate building remodeling process, building an effective internal communications department in a regional bank, and leading a planning committee in creating a successful university extension program awareness and research conference.

Shakeba Joseph, MBA, BBA

Shakeba Joseph

Position: Research Assistant
Experience: Shakeba grew up in Antigua and Barbuda, a twin island state in the Caribbean. Some of his professional accomplishments include working as a graduate assistant at the Dillard College of Business Administration and then as a behavioral health technician at The Wood Group in Wichita Falls, Texas. Working for The Wood Group granted him the opportunity to work with clients in "stepdown," a 6-month program for treating patients with behavioral, mental health, and sometimes developmental concerns. He has a bachelor's in business management and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Midwestern State University.
Position at TTU: Shakeba is the research assistant for Project TEDD and is a current Educational Psychology Ph.D. student.

Rosita Moore, Ph.D.

Rosita Moore, Ph.D.

Position: Senior Office Assistant
Experience: Dr. Moore has several years of experience as an editor of doctoral dissertations, grant proposals, and journal articles. She is a former high school English teacher, academic advisor, and has worked in various office management positions.
Position at TTU: Dr. Moore is the senior office assistant for Project TEDD. She has been an adjunct instructor in the College of Human Sciences at Texas Tech and an advisor for the special education certification program in the College of Education.
