English Department 2018-2019 Scholarship and Award Winners

Apply for Undergraduate Scholarships Now; Deadline is February 1:

  • Apply via the TTU Graduate School's Scholarship Portal. See instructions below for current students and incoming students.
  • Contact your faculty recommender before the end of the fall semester so they can upload a letter of recommendation on your behalf as part of the application process.

For Current and Prospective TTU Undergraduate Students:

- Deadline to Apply: February 1

- Apply for Scholarships. Select the Continuing Students link.

-Make sure to contact a faculty member in advance of the deadline for a letter of recommendation.

- There are separate links for Incoming Freshmen and for Transfer Students. Freshmen and Transfer Students will also need to apply to Texas Tech.

-You might also want to read the Scholarships FAQs. There is a link to the FAFSA website there. You don't have to complete a FAFSA in order to be considered, but need-based financial aid requires a FAFSA.

Funding Available from the English Department and the University: The financial resources and opportunities listed below are available to students in the English Department at Texas Tech. Some awards and scholarships are offered exclusively by the department to its majors, while others are available through the College of Arts and Sciences, the Graduate School, the Office of Student Financial Aid, or the Office of International Affairs. Interested students should fill out the appropriate graduate or undergraduate scholarship form (see application link below).

For Current TTU Graduate Students:

- Deadline to Apply: January 15

-After you click Apply for Scholarships, select the Continuing Students link.

-Make sure to contact a faculty member in advance of the deadline for a letter of recommendation. For English department scholarships, students must fill out the general university scholarship application AND provide a faculty letter of recommendation to their respective Director of Graduate Studies (DGS). The DGS will collect these letters and review them with the scholarship committee.

For Incoming TTU Graduate Students:

- Online application opens: November 15, 2019

-Deadline to Apply: January 15

-To apply for scholarships, and for more information about available fellowships through the Graduate School, go to the TTU Graduate School webpage.
