These students serve as official representation of the department and as an extension of the faculty and staff in the following capacity:
- Event Volunteers - The Ambassadors assist with special events such as the Majors and Minors fair, Texas Tech Preview day, Human Sciences day, Pizza with Profs, and more.
- Department Hosts -Ambassadors serve as hosts for professionals that visit our program to speak or present and for prospective students visiting campus
- Student Recruitment - Aid in the recruitment of prospective HDFS and ECE students by attending on-campus and off-campus recruiting events, visiting high schools, and visiting with prospective students during campus visits. Ambassadors will also follow up with student inquiries about the program as needed.
- Student Voice - Ambassadors serve as a collective voice for the HDFS student population, relaying concerns and needs to the department. The Ambassadors will occasionally serve as a "sounding board" for the department when new initiatives or ideas come up.
