The HDFS Ambassadors are comprised of undergraduate students majoring in Human Development and Family Studies and Early Childhood. The Ambassadors serve as a collective voice of the students by addressing the needs within the department and work together to create a solution. Learn more below!
Application Process
HDFS Ambassador Responsibilities
These students serve as official representation of the department and as extension of the faculty and staff in the following capacity:
- Event Volunteers - The Ambassadors assist with special events such as Majors and Minors fair, Texas Tech Preview day, Human Sciences day, Pizza with Profs, and more.
- Department Hosts -Ambassadors serve as host for professionals that visit our program to speak or present and for prospective students visiting campus
- Student Recruitment - Aid in the recruitment of prospective HDFS and EC students by attending on-campus and off-campus recruiting events, visiting high schools, and visiting with prospective students during campus visits. Ambassadors will also follow up with student inquiries about the program as needed.
- Student voice - Ambassadors serve as a collective voice for the HDFS student population, relaying concerns and needs to the department. The Ambassadors will occasionally serve as "sounding board" for the department when new initiatives or ideas come up.
