Meet Elizabeth Bufton Owner, Partner, and Designer

What degrees/certifications do you have?
Texas Tech University, Bachelor's of Interior Design in 2010

What is your current job title, and what does that role entail?
Owner, Partner & Designer. I started my own Interior Design company and have a business partner. I share all business administration and interior design tasks with my partner.

What inspired you to get a degree in Interior Design from Texas Tech University?
I kind of fell into the program after I moved from Detroit to Lubbock. I was in the Interior Design program at Wayne State University in Detroit and applied to transfer to the TTU program. Luckily, I was accepted!

How did the ID program prepare you for your current role?
The TTU ID program was very helpful in creating a solid foundation based on general design principles, building code compliance, visual presentation skills, and drawing program technology. While there are still many skills a designer must learn after college for real-world applications, TTU set us up for success.

Would you recommend this program to current and prospective students? If so, why?
Absolutely! Not only did I receive a well-rounded Design education, I had a blast while doing it. The city of Lubbock is cultured and fun, the campus is beautiful, and the TTU community is welcoming.
