What inspired you to get a degree in Interior Design from Texas Tech University?
A family member of mine graduated from Texas Tech's Interior Design program and designs the most stunning and functional homes all across Texas. Homes are so personal and intimate, and I was in awe of her ability to flex both her creative and technical skills to create something that was beautifully unique to each individual. After walking several job sites with her, I realized that it is extremely rare to be in a career where you quite literally see your hard work come to life - this was something that inspired me.

How did the ID program prepare you for your current role?
The ID program at Texas Tech emphasizes architecture, lighting/electrical systems, evidence-based design, and environmental design. I work at a firm that has architects, engineers, and interior designers all under one roof. The ID program has given me an advantage when stepping into a room with an architect or engineer - I have the education and confidence to be able to collaborate with other disciplines without second-guessing myself.

Would you recommend this program to current and prospective students? If so, why?
Texas Tech's Interior Design program is top-tier. The faculty, resources, and curriculum are unmatched compared to other Universities. I will always recommend Texas Tech's program to anyone who is interested in Interior Design. Additionally, with Texas Tech's program being CIDA accredited, I was able to sit for my professional licensing exams and receive my State licensure shortly after graduating.
