Graduate Admissions

Overview

To be considered for full admission status, a student's application must include:

  1. An application form;
  2. Transcripts of all previous college work;
  3. Optional - Scores from the GRE (Graduate Record Exam)-not currently required through Summer 2025;
  4. One Reccomender - other letters of reference optional, but encouraged;
  5. A non-refundable application fee.

The GRE has been required in the past for both the M.S. and Ph.D. programs, but is currently waived and not required through Summer of 2025. Students are encouraged to submit high GRE scores, but admission into the graduate program is not based on the GRE score criteria alone. As a general guide, the Department of Industrial, Manufacturing, and Systems Engineering (IMSE) expects successful applicants for the IMSE program to possess at least a B average in their last 60 hours of undergraduate work. For work at the Ph.D. level, a 3.5 grade point average in an M.S. program is expected. Academic performance as a non-degree student (GTMP) may be one factor considered in the admissions process. In addition, the Ph.D. program applicant's credentials are examined to assess his/her potential for in-depth research work. Foreign students are subject to additional requirements as dictated by Graduate Admissions. In addition to financial and immigration requirements, Duolingo English Test (Online examination), TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), International English Language Testing Service (IELTS), Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic), Cambridge C2 Proficiency Test (Cambridge CPE), Cambridge C1 Advanced Proficiency Test (Cambridge CAE) scores are required.
