B.S. Wind Energy (Undergraduate) Graduation and Commencement Information
For undergraduate students who are planning on graduating in August 2018, please see the notes below about TTU graduation and commencement procedures. If you have any questions, please contact Kacey Marshall, Assistant Director of Student Services, BSWE, at firstname.lastname@example.org or (tel) 806-834-6797.
Graduation Information for August 2018:
All majors in the Wind Energy program must file an Intent to Graduate form one year prior to graduation.
Fill out the Intent to Graduate form. You MUST have this form completed prior to graduation.
If any of the information submitted on the Intent to Graduate Form changes before the expected graduation date, students must file a new form with their advisor.
Graduating seniors should be aware of the Graduation Fair held each semester at the Barnes and Noble Bookstore website where orders for cap and gown and other regalia, along with invitations, may be placed.
It is never too early to begin making plans for your graduation from Texas Tech University, especially as Lubbock hotels tend to sell-out quickly. We hope that you and your family and friends plan to attend Commencement in the United Supermarkets Arena at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, August 11th, 2018.
Very Important: You must complete the work required for your degree. If we have notified you of any problems regarding needed transcripts, grades of "I", "PR", or anything else, immediately contact your advisor in this office (106 National Wind Institute) or by email to: email@example.com or (tel) 806-742-6284.
Between 12:00 P.M. and 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 11, 2018, please enter the United Supermarkets Arena through the large utility ramp at the northeast corner of the complex (the ramp extends from the parking lot into the lower level of the arena). Locate the Wind Energy table for the portion of the alphabet including your last name. There, you will be given a card indicating your name and seat number. Go to your assigned seat in the basketball practice court, complete the card (to be given to the Commencement reader as you approach the platform), and then be ready to march into the arena.
Please do NOT bring your coats, purses, or other items as there will not be a place to keep them. Please make sure your cell phones are turned off during the Ceremony.
The policy of the Texas Tech University Convocations Committee prohibits Commencement participants from decorating their caps and gowns or wearing any accessories that are not an official element of the academic regalia. As part of the official graduation regalia, academic honor cords and medallions may be worn. Please invite your family and friends to attend. Upon arrival, they should go directly to the United Supermarket Arena in time for the 1:30 P.M. program.
Fall/Spring graduates may pick up their diplomas immediately after the ceremony in
room 107 of the National Wind Institute until one hour after the graduation ceremony has ended. (Not applicable to Summer Graduation - your diplomas will be mailed*).
*All Summer and unclaimed Fall/Spring diplomas will be mailed the third week of the following month post-graduation using the address provided on your Intent to Graduate Form.
