Academic Standing Transition Information

Texas Tech University implemented a new Undergraduate Academic Standing Policy in fall 2017. The transition process was designed to benefit students who had been enrolled under the previous policy while establishing consistent academic standing requirements moving forward.

Transition to the New Policy

Students who had been enrolled at Texas Tech University prior to fall 2017 were transitioned into the new policy in a manner that best benefited each student at the completion of the fall 2017 term.

The following table outlines how previous academic standing categories were converted under the new policy.

Academic Standing After the Transition

Academic Standing was determined using the new Undergraduate Academic Standing Policy at the end of the spring 2018 term.

Future readmitted students affected by the policy change were treated in the same manner upon readmission, with a transition term, before following the new policy.
