Staff Responsibilities

Janie Lopez's responsibilities include answering and directing phone calls to appropriate staff members, greeting visitors and prospective students, and referring students to appropriate individual and/or area for information on the University, the College, scholarship, etc. In addition, her responsibilities include coordinating student assistant work duties and schedules. She serves as Emergency Action Coordinator for the Dean's Office and coordinator for the Davis College Dean's Office vehicle. Lopez serves as back-up clerical support for the Associate Dean for Academic and Student Programs, as well as providing clerical and administrative support for the Dr. Bill Bennett Student Success Center. She also serves as Co-Advisor for the Texas Beta Chapter of Alpha Zeta. Prior to joining Davis College, Lopez served as an administrative assistant in Tech's Office of the Provost, and before that she worked as a senior business assistant in Tech's College of Education. She received her bachelor's degree from Texas Tech.
