The Erin A. Wheeler-Cook Fellowship Endowment was established by various donors in
2011. The scholarship funds graduate fellowships for students enrolled in the Department
of Agricultural and Applied Economics.
Erin was born in Midland and grew up in Stanton where she graduated from Greenwood
High School in 1999. She then attended Texas Tech University where she received her
bachelor's, master's, and doctorate in Agricultural and Applied Economics. After graduation,
she contracted projects for TTU in water resource management for the Ogallala Aquifer.
Her projects contributed greatly in predicting the depletion rates of the aquifer.
Erin married Kevin Cook in May 2008 and they had their son, Wheeler, in February 2010.
Erin passed away in February 2011 in a tragic boating accident.
